relationship between parenting style with adolescent identity development in Karangploso district, Malang regency Indonesia

Introduction: Adolescents with mental health criteria can form a positive self-identity. One of the developments self-identity be influenced by parenting factors. Objectives: The purpose this study was to identify relationship between democratic, authoritarian, and permissive on formation adolescent in Karangploso District, Malang Regency. Methods: research design cross-sectional study; data were collected using Parental Authority Questionnaire (PAQ) Adolescent Self-Identity Scale. sample 80 respondents; selection used purposive sampling technique then statistically tested Spearman rank. This has obtained ethical approval number No.E.5.a/261/KEPK-UMM/XII/2021. Results: crosstab analysis showed that most frequently at moderate level (53.6%). Meanwhile, bivariate results rank styles all had P value <0.05. Conclusions: majority parents apply democratic self-identity; is because, age, adolescents enter phase self-discovery characteristics having ability think conceptually want appreciated so application pattern accommodate towards high.
